John McQueen

The sculptor began exploring abstracted basket forms of natural materials in the 70s. Each of his pieces, is complete in its expression. McQueen creates basket and vessel forms and wall works from materials that he finds near his rural New York State farm, including twigs, bark, flowers, weeds, and vines—anything that comes from the earth. In other sculptures, he “draws” with sticks, creating three-dimensional letters, books and other forms.
