Born in Mendrisio, Ticino in 1943, Mario Botta is a Swiss architect who attended the Art College in Milan, Italy and is one of the founders of the Academy of Architecture of the Universitá della Svizzera Italiana in Mendrisio where he currently teaches. Botta’s work crosses many architectural building types that include schools, banks, libraries, museums, sacred churches, and administrative buildings.
