Robert Carston Arneson was an American sculptor and educator having taught for nearly 30 years at UC Davis. Arneson was considered the “father of funk art” working in a number of mediums including printmaking, painting, and sculpting, and enjoyed incorporating a sense of humor as well as political references in his art.
